There is nothing left apart from some stones indicating where a long time ago. If you are interested in archeology this might be something of interest for you. Most people won't miss anything if they skip this sight.

Again a very special place. The ruins are well preserved and the city of Volterra is very much complimentary to these ruins. You will have a wonderful walk through history.

Very nice for a picnic, large trees provide nice shadows right on the soft grass. There are many food places nearby so you can buy something and bring it here! Definitely recommend.

This place is amazing when you think that back in 1944(?) The U.S. Army camped on it not knowing it was a mere 10 feet under the dirt they were sleeping on. The volunteers continue working on it. But, you can see the amphitheater and the bath house very plainly. And the views are fantastic!

Another ancient site you need to see in Italy. Volterra is a must see place.

Etruscan acropolis is fenced area where you can see bases of ancient buildings. There is also old Roman, 7m high underground water tank where you can descend.

It’s a small spiral staircase down into the cisterns, impressive achievement to build these. There is not too much to see, it’s a large underground water tank (with just some water in at the time we visited). 15 min and you have seen it all.

At the acropolis it would have been nice to read the explanations, they were sunfaded. The cistern was well hidden. Will be nice once they finish in 10? Or so years, they were just about to start. If you've never seen an Etruscan acropolis it's interesting.
