Qui la chiesa risulta rialzata di una dozzina di scalini rispetto al piano stradale e defilata sulla sinistra dietro le siepi e le fronde degli alberi. La struttura gotica è sbollire come richiede l'ordine francescano. Entrando si scopre una chiesa ricca ma sobria. La chiesa fu edificata, come spesso accadde per gli edifici destinati agli ordini mendicanti in generale, ai margini dell'abito medievale. The church of San Francesco has a simple stone facade, it is a construction of the type typical of the mendicant orders adopting the scheme of the large barn hall, in this specific case ending with three choral chapels: built in the 13th century, it was the seat until the 18th century of an important community of conventual Franciscans. The church was built, as often happened for buildings intended for mendicant orders in general, on the edge of the medieval dress.
