★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Local food, no frills, just hearty simple dishes, some dishes very local for the more adventurous dinners. well positioned in city, slightly off the beaten track, outside tables and inside. Quality all round, catering also for local, and Italian visitors, so ideal for someone that want to eat local and not catered for as a tourist. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had high hopes for this restaurant but we’re very disappointed with the food. Our entrees ( grilled lamb and pork) were very dry - a Lucca native told us afterwards that you have to ask them “ what’s fresh” .. and if you speak Italian and they think you’re local they take 25% off the bill! Really??? There are so many other good restaurants in Lucca …

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far our favorite restaurant in Lucca. You can eat outside in the square, or they have a fablous setup inside. Reservations highly recommended, even outside. The fried zucchini flowers with cheese are to die for, my favorite dish on our whole vacation. We went back two more nights during our stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't have a reservation but Trattoria Da Nonna Clara squeezed all 9 of us in at a moments notice. The food was great, but the service was even better, and at a great price too. We'd definitely go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was excellent, but the ambiance made the dinner experience perfect. We arrived without a reservation, but we were accommodated quickly at a nice table.
Light background music and a final Tiramisu dessert capped our stay in Lucca perfectly.
