★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imperdibile!
Unmissable! For the museum we are guided by some university students (about an hour's visit), very prepared and friendly, able to make themselves understood even by those who are not experts in the field. The museum tells the history and evolution of astronomy in Bologna from the 18th century. There are some very nice tools for astral observation and the study of astronomy, some extraordinary maps (including a seventeenth-century map written in China by Matteo Ricci!), Telescopes of various types ... Really fascinating, the structure is also very Interesting. And finally, the view from the tower on the historic center of the city of Bologna is wonderful.

Just go to the website and book. The guided tour is cheap, only five euros, but it is definitely worth it. The guide who accompanied us told us with enthusiasm the history of astronomical science in Italy, in Bologna, and its protagonists, taking us to an unknown and truly fascinating world. Going up the spiral stairs of the tower leads to discover the environments where the most famous scholars have made the history of the "stars" and between one story and another you reach the terrace where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city. Absolutely not to be missed. By reservation only.

Free guided tour for unibo students. I learned a lot about the function of the Tower and about astronomy. The tour was also very interesting for us laymen. I recommend everyone to book if you have the chance to go through here. The final stage at the top of the tower is beautiful, an excellent vantage point for observing Bologna from above.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 7/6/16 Made appointment to view this museum and was greeted by a wonderful girl who led me on a one to one tour full of great exhibits complimented by the knowledge of my guide. The tour slowly climbs a tower, which at the end opens up to give probably the best view of Bologna. The Specola is a must visit and I highly recommend you do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great museum in Bologna, in the same building of Palazzo Poggi. You see the collections for about one hour in a guided tour, dedicated mostly to astronomy, and then check out the views to the city from the top of the tour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is the best museum in Bologna. There are many interesting things about astronomy and its history. You should visit there. And the mandatory guide tour is also worth. Sara was a skilled guide and very good at history.
