A true gem! A museum about its own history as much as the natural history it houses. I was fascinated throughout, from the portion housing the original "cabinet of wonders" to the military models to the museum of physics.

It was amazing to see many spaces from New Zealand and around the world which means that our planet is very old and to realize that you should go to this museum. To see skeleton of dinosaurs, fossils of plants and animals which lived 10 000 and more years ago. If you are in Bologna -just go there!!!! Don’t hesitate to go anytime because you will be surprisingly amazed!

Very nice and small enough that you don't feel guilty about dragging people with you! Only issue is the lack of some explanations in english.

Worth a quick run-through if only to see the awe-inspiring dinosaur skeletons on the upper floor. Free. Tons of fossils to look at with no explanation, so a longer visit would mostly be interesting only to those knowledgeable about paleontology.

Incredible!!! Absolutely amazing exhibits!! And free in! We couldn't believe our eyes. We only gave ourselves 40 minutes in there, it wasn't enough! We were disappointed that we didn't have more cash with us to donate! We happened by the museum while driving but hadn't seen it mentioned on any tourism sites. A must see if you're in bologna!!

Honestly the prime example why the avarage person thinks geology is boring. Vitrines chock full of stones and fossiles without any explanations(not even in italian), lighting, arrangement… Why are they arranged by place? Is this a museum or a storage space? There are a few interesting specimens and the price is negligible, but it just felt like a huge waste

Recommended to all travelers with kids who are dino fans. There’s just so much to see here that make your little ones wow and the biggest and longest surprise waits in the end. It’s really worth it to spend some hours there. The categories are divided nicely but there are just so many remains in the shelves without any explanation that makes them look more like a private collection. When we were there, there was a small adventure/climbing exhibition that our kid enjoyed. The small souvenir shop has some books which are in italian and some other small stuff like magnets, postcards, pencils etc. i think it would be so cute if they also sell some special dino figures :) Updated: i add some more pics for you guys to have a sneak peak :) I have forgotten to take pics of the most gigantic one though. Pic 5 is his tail!
