★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is amazingly good and I found it very interesting to also see this very important part of Bologna, which is it’s educational heritage. It’s always been a scientific center and you can follow that history also in this museum ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really interesting and unique museum. I'd say the maps and the anatomic models are unmissable. The ones showing all the different ways a fetus could be in the womb (or showing doctors hands to demonstrate how to remove the placenta) are creepy but interesting. Same for La Venerina, the sexualised wax figure of a dying pregnant woman, whose skin can be lifted so her inner organs can be examined. It really tells us much about the history of science. When I was there last time they had two interesting exhibits, on the science that inspired the writing of Frankenstein and on Japanese images.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ stupid rules for visiting the museum. require you to fill in an incredible amount of personal data to get into the museum. they say that this is because of covid. sheer stupidity. I lost all desire to visit the museum. though 5 euros were debited from the card.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Museum, and great guided free tour about pestilences centuries ago, and about Ferdinando Marsili.
Very heplful, polite and informative stuf!
As the tour is offered for free I think people should do it as a must in Bologna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The setting of this museum is beautiful to start with - and it has some fascinating exhibits. In particular the human anatomy - models of babies in the womb, and being born. Also skeletons, and muscles - a great way to visualise what is inside our own bodies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Make sure to come here with comfy shoes and a full stomach because, as usual, while the museums seems quite small, Italian baroque decoration never disappoints. There are things everywhere. Yes, there are collections but the building in itself is good enough to careful watch frescos and delicate architecture. This is my first time, but clearly I have to return because I'm sure I'll discover something new every time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's is a small museum but has its own charm. You will find a bit of everything there as probably you would expect from a university museum. Expositions cover anatomy, medicine, zoology, botanic, war, history and more. All of this plus a nice old library makes Poggi an interesting place to visit.
