★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For the price of 6 Euro to spend about 1,5 h in this Gallery it is not to expensive. You can't maybe see many pieces of really famous painters but it ist still worth to go there. The biggest disadvantage in all museums of Bologna is lack of english descriptions

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Entering my NHS pass didn't work, which is weirdly becoming more common here. Valid on the first day and then playing up on the second... The nice ticket man studied my Vax documents and allowed me entry. It's €16 which is very high for entry in such a small museum. I suggest get yourself a €25 Bologna welcome card which covers about 15 things.
Good museum with local renaissance art and some Raphael and Tizian. Well, one of each...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb collection of exquisite 13th-18th paintings Lovely quiet space. One of the best collections in Italy and all can be seen in 2hours. Was there an audio guide? Didn't seem to see one available but if there is one, I'd recommend taking it as the info for each picture or room is minimal.

English subtitles to almost everything on display helped a great deal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Canova exhibition is not worth the visit, very small and a mix of various artists without real order or connection in the artwork. The tickets are nonsense it says “18-25 reduced ticket” but if you are already 25 they make you pay in full but it is not specified on their tickets listing, it’s their own interpretation of it as it is a EU standard up to 25 included you are free or reduced. The general collection good and interesting, not worth the entrance price only a few nice pieces.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Museum to go to when in Bologna. Students of specific degree programmes don’t have to pay entry, the reduced price for people under 25 is 2 Euros. So really affordable for Erasmus students looking to explore more of Italian culture. The staff was friendly and the paintings were nice to look at.
