Figlio di un ricco commerciante, abbandonò sin da giovane gli studi di legge per dedicarsi alla letteratura e al giornalismo, suo grande amore. Nella sua carriera fu responsabile della redazione veronese del Gazzettino di Venezia e anche direttore del quotidiano L'Adige di Verona. I suoi versi in dialetto veronese sono caratterizzati da UN TONO MALINCONICO ED EVOCATIVO, DI GUSTO CREPUSCOLARE.
Born in Verona, December 3, 1872, Roberto Tiberio Barbarani (known as Berto) was one of the greatest Italian poets and dialectal veronese of the twentieth century. The son of a wealthy merchant, he left the law studies at a young age to devote himself to literature and journalism, his great love. In his career he was responsible for the editorial staff of the Gazzettino di Venezia in Verona and also director of the newspaper L'Adige di Verona. His verses in the Veronese dialect are characterized by a melancholic and evocative tone of crepuscular taste.
