★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Domenico, dopo quella del Collegio e quella di Sant'Andrea Apostolo, era la terza fra le più belle e grandi di Siracusa. Purtroppo, con il terremoto del 1693 si sono perduti, oltre il monumentale primo impianto della chiesa, anche i lavori di Andrea e Giovanni Vermexio per la realizzazione di altari e cappelle di cui non resta più alcuna traccia.
The church of San Domenico, after that of the Collegio and that of Sant'Andrea Apostolo, was the third of the most beautiful and largest in Syracuse. Unfortunately, with the earthquake of 1693, the works of Andrea and Giovanni Vermexio for the construction of altars and chapels of which no trace remains are lost, in addition to the monumental first plant of the church.
