★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I Padri Paolotti (o Minimi) la edificarono nel quartiere Giudecca di Ortigia nel 1740 circa, di fronte a San Giovanni Battista. In memoria dell'antica chiesa di San Antonio, in origine a loro assegnata e poi demolita, i Padri fecero incidere sulla cupola le parole "DIVO ANTONIO ABATI". Dipinti notevoli della chiesa erano quelli di San Antonio Abate e di San Francesco di Paola dell'artista Fragonio Messinese.
The Paolotti (or Minimi) Fathers built it in the Giudecca district of Ortigia in about 1740, in front of San Giovanni Battista. In memory of the ancient church of San Antonio, originally assigned to them and then demolished, the Fathers had the words "DIVO ANTONIO ABATI" engraved on the dome. Notable church paintings were those of San Antonio Abate and San Francesco di Paola by the artist Fragonio Messinese.
