★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Appena restaurata era un gioiellino, ora come altre ha bisogno di una ripulitina ai dipinti dopo covid. Mettere stelline a posti con pezzi d'arte, affezione, storia... E' un po' come mettere le stelline alla gioconda, andare da Einstein e dirgli che e' un bravo fisico, da bottura a dirgli che e' un bravo cuoco... Andiamoci documentati per bene, cerchiamo di inquadrare la storia e la bellezza di queste opere e se siete della città o della provincia o della regione o della nazione o semplicemente uomini, cogliete il paragone che queste opere hanno avuto per Voi e per la storia dei vostri ascendenti e, per la vostra storia. Qui faccio memoria delle parole dette su questa chiesa, questa città, questa Italia di mia moglie architetto russo che non avrebbe mai immaginato alla scuola di San Pietroburgo di vedere questa Italia, questi particolari che adora e beve in un anelito di curiosita' e gratitudine: con gli occhi di un bambino.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tra la metà del 1500 e del 1600 i Padri Minimi di San Francesco di Paola, nuovi assegnatari della chiesa, ne ridisegnarono lo sviluppo e riorientarono la facciata ad est. L'attuale facciata, terminata nel 1760, è composta da quattro nicchie nella quale furono poste quattro statue in pietra vicentina e che raffigurano, in basso a sinistra San Francesco di Paola (il Santo Taumaturgo protettore della Calabria e della gente di mare), in basso a destra Sant'Agostino, in alto a destra San Michele Arcangelo e, in alto a sinistra San Barnaba. Pregevolissimo l'interno e assolutamente da visitare, vivere, frequentare e proteggere.
Between the mid-1500s and 1600s the Minimum Fathers of San Francesco di Paola, new assignees of the church, redesigned its development and reoriented the facade to the east. The current facade, finished in 1760, is composed of four niches in which four Vicenza stone statues were placed and which depict, at the bottom left, San Francesco di Paola (the Saint Wonderworker protector of Calabria and seafarers), in Sant'Agostino is on the lower right, San Michele Arcangelo is on the upper right and San Barnaba is on the upper left. The interior is extremely valuable and absolutely to visit, live, attend and protect.

Interno molto decorato.
Una lapide accanto alla facciata ricorda i morti per la peste del 1630.
Beautiful seventeenth-century church in a somewhat secluded position, now being renovated and earthquake-proofed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gioiello barocco nella caratteristica via Carteria. Belli gli stucchi e i confessionali lignei, armonioso e luminoso l’insieme. Prima era sempre chiusa, ultimamente è aperta più spesso, per fortuna. Davvero merita una sosta!
Baroque jewel in the characteristic Via Carteria. Beautiful stuccoes and wooden confessionals, harmonious and bright the whole. Before it was always closed, lately it is open more often, luckily. Really worth a stop!
