★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice collection with some impressively detailed works by Italian and German artists. The employees were warm-hearted and showed a lot of passion explaining their favourite artworks. There is a reduced price for students and/or young people (2€).

One-two hour tour. A collection started a long time ago.
After the visit it is worthy to take a stroll in the Civic Gallery, for free, at the floor below the Galleria Estense.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic! The city doesn't seem to realize what a magnificent museum this is. Relagated to the fourth floor of the city museum building, this is a world class gallery of Renaissance art. Track it down and go.

A very old collection that has aged beyond beauty. Superb. Do not miss the Gallery Estense. Check hours in Italy, they are there for amore not the money. An easy walk on the main road, Via Emilia from the tower in the center of Modena. The entrance is too the left. On viale Vi Veneto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very interesting gallery that is worth visiting when you are in Modena. Paintings, statues and objects from different time periods are presented. Most of them are works of art, related to the region. There are some very impressive specimens.
