★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Pietra Ringadora in gergo volgare significa "pietra che arringa", si tratta di un grande sasso di amminitico veronese di forma rettangolare che nel medioevo servì da tribuna e pulpito agli oratori modenesi.
The Pietra Ringadora in vulgar jargon means "stone that harms", it is a large Veronese stone of rectangular shape which in the Middle Ages served as a grandstand and pulpit for the modenese speakers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come in Hyde Park a Londra c'è lo Speakers' Corner (in italiano "angolo degli oratori"), qui a Modena - si parva licet - troviamo in Piazza Grande questo grosso blocco di marmo soprannominato Preda Ringadora (pietra arringatrice), podio che da secoli ha visto succedersi non solo oratori ma assemblee di popolo, condanne di malfattori, esposizioni di morti senza nome e chissà cos'altro.
Una muta testimone di una lunga storia.
As in Hyde Park in London there is the Speakers' Corner (in Italian "corner of the speakers"), here in Modena - parva licet - we find in Piazza Grande this large block of marble nicknamed Preda Ringadora (harping stone), a podium that for centuries it has seen not only speakers but people's assemblies, convictions of evildoers, exhibitions of nameless deaths and who knows what else.
A silent witness to a long history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Particolare che non sfugge all'occhio passando per la piazza di Modena, era il pulpito del Popolo, da dove ognuno salendovi poteva dire qualcosa, altro particolare macabro, vi venivano esposti anche i cadaveri senza nome, con la speranza che qualcuno passando li riconoscesse.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situato nelle adiacenze del porticato del palazzo comunale si tratta di un grosso masso di forma rettangolare essa serviva come da pulpito nel.medioevo poi venne usata come pietra del disonore per i bestemmiatori e i debitori fu anche usata per il riconoscimento dei cadaveri.La pietra per la storia assunse una funzione molto importante per la società del tempo sicuramente unico nel suo genere.
