Church in perfect Baroque style with great use of gilded stuccos, worth a visit also and above all to admire the altar.

Gli stucchi non sono sempre ben tenuti ma l'altare è molto bello.
È considerato il Santuario della Modena Protettrice dei modenesi.
Beautiful church in Baroque style.
The stuccos are not always well kept but the altar is very beautiful.
It is considered the Sanctuary of the Modena Protector of the Modena area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è rifacimento voluto dai Duchi negli anni 1708-31, perché la precedente costruzione, orientata secondo l’asse ovest-est e non secondo l’attuale sud-nord, non pareva degna del nuovo Palazzo Ducale adiacente; custodisce la tomba del beato Marco da Modena (morto nel 1498), protettore degli studenti. Nel battistero si conserva il bellissimo gruppo scultoreo in terracotta di Antonio Begarelli raffigurante Gesù in casa di Marta e Maddalena con gli Apostoli Pietro e Paolo ed altre pie donne
The church was a remake wanted by the Dukes in the years 1708-31, because the previous construction, oriented according to the west-east axis and not according to the current south-north, did not seem worthy of the new adjacent Ducal Palace; it houses the tomb of Blessed Marco da Modena (died in 1498), protector of students. The baptistery houses the beautiful terracotta sculptural group by Antonio Begarelli depicting Jesus in the house of Martha and Magdalene with the Apostles Peter and Paul and other pious women
