Historic place in the center of Modena. Refurbished, always very attractive. Good service, shame about the slightly overcooked tigelle. But you can come back willingly.

Varcare la porta del Bar é un tuffo nel passato. Punto di ritrovo dagli anni 60 di artisti, musicisti, personaggi di ogni genere. Il Bar appartenuto da generazioni alla famiglia Malagoli, l'ultimo di questi appunto: CESARE, leggendario "Oste" di Modena. Il locale ha cambiato da poco gestione, riusciendo peró a salvaguardararne il fascino della sua storicitá e direi anche migliorandolo smuffendolo. BRAVI. I think it is really worth stopping in this place in the center of Modena in via Carteria, let's say the street of the "artists" where walking under the arcades we have small independent craft shops of various kinds and art galleries. Going through the door of the Bar is a blast from the past. Meeting point since the 60s for artists, musicians, characters of all kinds. The Bar that has belonged to the Malagoli family for generations, the last of these: CESARE, the legendary "Innkeeper" of Modena. The restaurant has recently changed management, but managed to safeguard the charm of its historicity and I would also say by improving it by spoiling it. GOOD.
