β β β β β Food is Very good, as in proper, but it was overpriced. They kept taking our silverware and plates whilst we were still chewing, not sure if efficiency or rush. The owner kept hovering around us and was not really that friendly.

β β β β β Disappointing. They forgot my main course, so I only had a starter. The guy didn't even apologies. And there's an extra charge for "cutelery" that we found everywhere in Italy. It will add between 3β¬ and 6β¬ to your bill. No English is spoken.

β β β β β La Ruggera never disappoints my expectations. The small but cozy and warming resto is a little treasure in the heart of Modena. Typical sicilian cuisine, you should try the delicious starters (arancini and melanzane alla parmigiana are surreals ;)) and spaghetti alla bufala are simply delicious.
Anna the owner is always nice and welcoming, she will make you feel like being at home.
highly recommended !!!!

β β β β β Perfect little Mom and Pop hideaway, don't overlook it amongst Modena's other great options!

β β β β β TOURIST TRAP
Modena can offer you so much better.
The owner is totally unpleasant and pushy (he came to us and he took away the oil because he needed it for his own salad), the food is not that good especially for the cost of it.
And he didn't even make the bill.
Totally a bad experience.

β β β β β I've lived in Italy for three years and this "mom and pop" restaurant served me the best pasta I've ever had. Don't believe the low rating. I also had a honey and cheese melt. OMG this was a wonderful, sweet treat.
