★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il rifugio è facilissimo da raggiungere ma di norma è chiuso, per fruirne è di certo necessario richiedere un'apposita autorizzazione ma nell'area non ci sono indicazioni in merito (in una tabella si menzionano il comune di Nicolosi e l'azienda regionale foreste. All'esterno alcuni tavoli con panche utilizzabili liberamente.
Punto base per piacevolissime e non troppo impegnative escursioni tra boschi di pini, cedri e pioppi per raggiungere le lave del 1886, i crateri di monte Grosso e soprattutto di monte Gemmellaro, bellissimo e con un panorama splendido.
The refuge is very easy to reach but is normally closed, to benefit from it is certainly necessary to request a specific authorization but in the area there are no indications (in a table the municipality of Nicolosi and the regional forest company are mentioned). Outside some tables with benches can be used freely.
Base point for very pleasant and not too demanding excursions among pine, cedar and poplar woods to reach the lavas of 1886, the craters of Monte Grosso and above all of Monte Gemmellaro, beautiful and with a splendid view.
