Lungo la costa esistono ben sei latomie (cave estrattive di età greca) a testimonianza ulteriore che in quest’area sorgeva l’antico quartiere sub-urbano del Plemmyriom oggi scomparso. L'acqua è meravigliosa e si può scegliere un lato o l'altro della necropoli. Suggestivi i resti della cava anche se l'acqua è particolarmente bassa e piuttosto calda.
 A Bronze Age necropolis with traces of the village. Along the coast there are six latomie (quarries from the Greek age) further evidence that in this area there was the ancient sub-urban district of Plemmyriom, which has now disappeared. The water is wonderful and you can choose one side or the other of the necropolis. The remains of the quarry are suggestive even if the water is particularly low and rather hot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Getting there was a bit of a challenge and once there, parking a rental vehicle was a challenge as well. But the views, beach and water are worth it. We shared the beach with only two local dogs who wanted to tag along. The ruins of WWII era fortifications may or may not be safe, but we took the chance to look around. The clear water and empty beach topped it off.
