★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pessima esperienza! Mostra sulla crocifissione di Sant’Andrea attribuita al Caravaggio. Modico prezzo di 7€ per vedere tre quadri esposti. Due di Minniti ed appunto questa attribuzione al Caravaggio. A pochi metri nella chiesa di Santa Lucia, un vero Caravaggio ad ingresso gratuito.
 Awful Experience! Exhibition on the crucifixion of Sant’Andrea attributed to Caravaggio. Modico price of 7 € to see three paintings displayed. Two by Minniti and precisely this attribution to Caravaggio. A few meters away in the church of Santa Lucia, a real Caravaggio with free admission.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un bellissimo palazzo costruito nella seconda metà dell'ottocento, nel luogo del demolito Convento di San Giovanni di Dio, di epoca cinquecentesca. Il palazzo fu costruito come sede del Museo Archeologico, dove conservare i reperti ritrovati nella zona orientale della Sicilia. Il Palazzo presenta una bella facciata in stile neoclassico e si inserisce nella magnifica cornice di Piazza Duomo.
Ha un'altra facciata molto più imponente che dà sul mare, nel Passeggio Adorno.
Quando il Museo Archeologico si trasferì nei nuovi locali espositivi di Viale Teocrito, il palazzo è rimasto sede degli uffici della Soprintendenza regionale ai beni culturali. Peccato che un edificio storico così importante, sia ridotto a uffici amministrativi. Inoltre la facciata sul mare meriterebbe un attento restauro e valorizzazione, nessuna targa indica al turista notizie sul palazzo.
A beautiful palace built in the second half of the nineteenth century, in the place of the demolished Convent of San Giovanni di Dio, dating back to the sixteenth century. The palace was built as the seat of the Archaeological Museum, where the artefacts found in the eastern part of Sicily can be kept. The building has a beautiful neoclassical facade and fits into the magnificent setting of Piazza Duomo.
It has another much more imposing facade overlooking the sea, in the Adorno Pass.
When the Archaeological Museum moved to the new exhibition rooms in Viale Teocrito, the building remained the seat of the offices of the Regional Superintendence for Cultural Heritage. Too bad that such an important historic building is reduced to administrative offices. Furthermore, the facade overlooking the sea deserves a careful restoration and enhancement, no plaque indicates to the tourist news about the building.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All the buildings that are near by are very beautiful. A very good spot for taking pictures, a lot of people getting around, sometimes there are small street representations. I love this plaza, it is amazing. The only regret is the fact that I did not have more time to spend there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Caravaggio exhibition is to be avoided. You pay 7 euro to see the Crucifixion of St Andrew, flanked by two non-Caravaggio pieces. And that's it. The art was beautiful, but you can see far more for much more reasonable prices elsewhere.
