Palazzo Arezzo Della Targia It is a noble building located in Piazza Duomo in Syracuse next to the Palazzo Benventano del Bosco. (The first Palazzo Arezzo was the one that at the end of the 1700s was sold to the Beneventano del Bosco family, used since around 1400 as an ancient residence of the Arezzo before buying the fief of Fatto a with an adjoining Castello of the same name). It was built at the behest of the noble Arezzo family (barons) who had possessions from the targia to Augusta and also to Cassibile. The building has a curved shape since it follows the elliptical shape of Piazza Duomo. It has four large portals, each of which is separated by not too elaborate windows, on the upper floor there are nine balconies enclosed by railings, above them beams worked with Iblea stone, ten market-style pillars outline the structure of the Palace. A second entrance of the palace, different from the main one, shows a large arched portal in Baroque style, flanked by two other balconies also closed in wrought iron.

Compelling experience, unique atmosphere. Like all surrounding areas and the entire old Syracusa island, made of light marble and some sort of sandstone.. reminiscent of the times of antiquity. Personally I favor these palaces over the amphitheaters and akropolis' of Greece, both in historical value and level of preservation.
