An area to see for the landscape, for the plants and for the flowers, for the church of S. Giovanni in Oleo, for the oratory of Francesco Borromini, for the remains of ancient Rome, for the beauty of the Latin door and of the nearby Porta S. Sebastiano. One of the most beautiful areas of Rome there is a silence to listen to, too bad that occasionally some cars pass that remind us of the noises of the city.

Oh yes ... just beautiful and well preserved, especially as evidence of its effective defensive action (not even the Garibaldians were able to conquer it). It has undergone reductions and alterations but all in all it has retained its structure and the sliding slot of the shutter that was lowered in an emergency is clearly visible, supporting the hinged closure of which no trace remains. The similarity with the nearby (but decidedly more beautiful) Porta San Sebastiano is interesting. Crossing it you enter the beautiful and quiet Via Latina, a little forgotten but therefore preserved. Look at the photos and other reviews of Rome and its wonders that I have done and if they have been useful click on useful.

I think it is one of the oldest churches in Rome almost 1400 years old church san. Givani in via di porta latino. Really it is very good place.

We did not have the time to explore the area. In the short time spent here I found out a good playing area for children, a lot of talla trees, no ciment or constructions unnecesary. Interesting is the gate to the park, a short cut for vehiculeals and motorbikes. The.sorroundings are calm and.peacefull.

Wonderful place with the surrounding Aurelian Wall. You can make a nice walk with or without a dog along the wall eastward to Porta Metronia and have a drink of water from the aquaeduct...
