It would be beautiful .... if only it was visible. Two hours. Two miserable hours a week and moreover only of Saturday morning (there is to jury reserved for weddings, as the microcardello on the door refers to the contact with the wedding office). After so much penalty I managed to find it open (eh yes because to visit it in view of the weddings time find it) and I confirm that it is wonderful. Of ancient origin apart from the apse, which dates back to the 1800s, what we see is the result of the rehover in view of the Jubilee of 1600. Really rich and beautiful, collects the relics of one of the two saints under the high altar. Wonderful pulpit and ciborium. Look at the photos and other reviews on Rome and its wonders I did.

Absolutely stunning church. Amazing location for weddings as the size is just perfect for a medium big event.

This beautiful old church is currently only open to visitors on Saturday mornings between 10 and 12. Inside, remains of the medieval church include cosmateque decorations and a mosaic above the arch, while the walls are covered in 16th century frescoes showing various martyrdoms, by the same artist who produced similar frescoes at Santo Stefano Rotondo.

The oldest church in Rome, according to lots of archeological studies. This church is a must-see in the city if you want to discover how were churches in Rome before the rising of Baroque. It has some breathtaking frescoes and mosaics in the apsis. The altar is made in porphiry and came from Caracalla Baths that are nearby this church. The entire church has a very ancient atmosphere and it is a piece of ancient city in the middle of the modern street " Viale delle Terme di Caracalla " ( Caracalla Baths Avenue).
