A beautiful old city gate with intact huge wooden doors.

A very nice place. You can feel in this town like on a movie set of an Italian film. Time is running slowly, cats are on the streets, people are not in the afternoon ... there is the smell of freshly washed underwear and a wild rose. From the observation deck there is an amazing view of the Tuscan olive grove.

The remaining part of the majestic walls of the historic center of Montecarlo di Lucca is still one of the icons of this medieval village; They still retain three of the 15 gates: Porta Fiorentina, Porta Nuova and Porta Porticciola; Porta Fiorentina, not far from the theater of the Reassured, got its name because it is crossed by the road that leads to Florence.

Great place to see in that time. The gate was built in 1779 that what was written in Italian and that was the only thing that I understood ? at the end it was great to see.
