★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful hidden gem not far from Lucca. A stately home with extensive, landscaped gardens and special features like the camellia walk, Pan's grotto and outdoor theatre. Unfortunately the house is not open to visitors - yet.
It's an enjoyable way to spend a morning or an afternoon exploring the nooks and crannies of the estate. Villa Reale is not very well known yet and at times you can almost have the place to yourself, which is very relaxing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing garden. If you are around you have to visit. The rooms inside the palace are nice but probably not worth the extra price on the ticket. If you come in the summer, come as early as possible: it becomes quite hot quite fast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gardens were immense and well tended. The size of the varieties of flowers was baffling, huge like I've never seen before. Beautiful walk and perfect place for wedding foto shooting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful house and gardens. The restoration is fabulous. We also had a relaxing lunch at the cafe. Well worth a visit, must go back in the spring to see the Camelias.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I didn't really explore the villa during the day. I went there for halloween and it was the best halloween performance I've ever seen. Definitely worth the wait and spending. The villa I guess is really pretty during the day. Bit during the night, it was a perfect stage for halloween
