Best Archaeological museum in Italia

a	amit gaharwar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a surreal place. Immerse yourself into an ancient city experience and how people lived in that era! The ruins are very well preserved and the archaelogical team's hard work is quite visible. They have even been able to build casts from the bodily remains of the Vesuvius eruption. If you imagine hard enough, you could possibly feel the chill that these folks would have felt at their ghastly end! Imagine that the lava temperatures was so high that the death was instant and the expression of horror remained as is on the visages of who died. The city itself was part of golden age of Italy and seemed quite well- off. Do make special effort to see the bungalow of the Fawn, bakery and the amphi-theatres. You can take the train from Naples which runs every half an hour and get down at Pompi Scavi. There is also a bus from Pompeii that takes you to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. All in all a great experience!

To bad that you can't enter all houses, I would have loved to see more interiors. Buying a ticket online doesn't give you any advance, you still have to stand in que. I would recommend an extra booth for those who already have a ticket/voucher. Like they have in Hercalaneum. It surprises me that there only one takeaway in the entire park. The original inhabitants had so much more etablissements where they could eat. So 4 stars because that's a point to improve.
S	Serdar “Travelmate” on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you expect to see those dead bodies covered with ashes everywhere, you shouldn't. They are just in some rooms. Reaching there is very easy by metro and train. Entrance is 16euros and free for u18.
R	R Snyder on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seeing the ruins of Pompeii has been a dream of mine since I was a child. And they did not disappoint! I recommend getting there early as it gets quite warm and there is a lot of ground to cover, the site is quite large. Also, at the time we were there, 4/2022, the entrance tickets were CASH ONLY. I don't know if that was a technical issue for that day or ? Once in the site you'll want to study the map so you can see everything you want to see. There are audio guides to rent OR there are people offering guided tours on site as well. I would check their credentials first but most seemed legit. There is a nice snack bar in the middle of the site but the queue grows quickly around lunchtime. NOTE: If your primary interest is seeing the casts made of the victims of the eruption, currently they are all mostly located in the museum not far from the entrance.

Don’t miss out on the visit to the museum of Pompeii. A good spent at Pompeii. You must visit it when you’re in Italy. ?

This ancient city is very well preserved: traces of food left inside of market places, roads has traces left from wheels of chariots, walls have paintings. The city provides a chance to feel how people were living at that time, that they had same problems and joys as we now, and that they were not so underdeveloped as somebody might think. Almost nothing changed from that time...
