Nice little restaurant in Pompei. It’s small and cozy, and the staff and owner are very friendly. The portions good and the food is solid. I enjoyed the gnocchi, but the bread and meat item I ordered left a bit to be desired. I think the pasta dishes are all worthwhile here. Overall it’s a good choice for lunch or dinner when in Pompei.

Although right outside the back gate of old Pompeii, this place did not feel like a tourist trap. Lovely home cooked food and a nice change from the inevitable visitor's pizza / pasta offerings. To be highly recommended.

We ate there couple of chef dishes. The food and ingredients are way good. It was very tasty, the place is calm and cozy, the waitress is very helpful, speaks english very well, she also helps Luigi serve the great food! They has many reviews on TripAdvisor and the place is very promising. Overall we enjoyed despite the little high price.

The food was great. The young lady who served me (and cooked the food) was nice, professional and I have nothing negative to say about her. Honestly, she made some of the best food I've had in Italy. It was the environment that was the issue. I came in and I was the only person. The waitress showed me to my table and was lovely. I was waiting for my five other friends to arrive so I ordered a quick appetizer and a starter. Shortly after I ordered a young lady walked in and the owner and her had a seat at the table next to me. I'm only assuming but she seemed like maybe his wife, girlfriend or daughter. She was quite upset and for the next 20 minutes she was venting (quite loudly) to the owner. It was so uncomfortable that I didn't even eat my food. I took it to go and told my friends we should go somewhere else. Again, the food was good but if you're the owner, maybe personal conversations should be kept personal and away from paying costumers. I truthfully feel bad for the waitress and cook, cause we spent 600 euros up the road and she would have gotten the tip had that young lady not come in.

Amazing restaurant with fresh made to order meals from owner and excellent chef Luigi . I have been coming to this family owned and operated restaurant since 2018 and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at in the world ! I travel all over the world and have eaten at many restaurants and this place which is like having a meal in a comfortable family’s dining room and having the comfort of being served and treated special . The seafood and fresh pasta is always a great choice here but everything I have ever eaten here has always been beyond my expectations. Every year when I come to Pompei sometimes multiple times a year I look forward to having a meal here . It is located right outside the Pompei ruins / scavi so please do not miss this place and try it out . I promise you will not be disappointed.

One of the best dine-in experiences I've had in years. Luigi will suggest what he does, explain how he makes food, and selects only the right ingredients to cook with every day. He buys, cooks and hosts completely with the help of just one other for a truly unique and personal experience. The quality of the food is only matched by the unrivalled level of experience being in the restaurant. Luigi restaurant - thank you (grazie)

I had a fantastic meal here. The restaurant (and this is a restaurant, not a hotel like google maps makes it look like) is a small room with maybe six tables. The only staff is the chef and a waitress who also helps in the kitchen. The puttanesca was one of the best I have ever had and I would definitely recommend it. My only complaint is that there is no cheap house wine. Despite the wine, I now have another restaurant that I must visit when in Pompeii.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening on the recommendation of the hostel owners where we were staying. After reading the reviews we knew we had to go. It didn't disappoint. On first glance, it's unassuming, quiet and you could definitely miss it if you weren't looking for it. We were welcomed in, and my 6y/o daughter was made to feel really welcome too. The chef came out and explained all the dishes to us, talked about the wines and generally just made us feel excited for what was to come. They catered for my daughter, with simple tomato sauce and pasta, and she got freshly squeezed orange juice which was a winner! We got a trio of seafood starter, which was delicious, octopus, mussels and clams, and salmon and anchovies, all with fresh bread on the side. For main we shared a goats cheese ravioli and I wish we hadn't shared it! It was so good, we cleaned the plates. We left very very happy and it was great value, even got some of the chef's own limocello to see us on our way! I wish we could've tried more food, but the overall experience was amazing, so friendly, welcoming and really made us laugh and smile a lot. We'll definitely be returning if we come back this way again.
