We visited Scavi Di Pompei that day and looked for a parking lot. The host/owner of this place offered us a parking space in front of his place right in the cool shade (good, because we are travelling with our dog). We knew of course that we will eat and drink a little something when we come back - there was no push or anything about that,but just something that was clear for us. So we left for the Pompei Ruins and the host kept feeding the parking meter for us...cool thing, so we didn't have to look at the time and just enjoy Pompei.
After the visit we took a table outside in the shade, our dog was welcome as well. We had two beer, a plate of Linguine allo scoglio (seafood pasta) and a tuna/tomato salad with beans. Staff brought some water for our dog.
Pasta was ok, not as fresh as other meals we had on this trip before. The Tuna salad on the other hand was very good. Fresh, light and tasty. Great choice for a hot day. All in all a fair meal for a fair price.
It's not the greatest place to eat, but the owner/host is a really nice guy and the location right next to the ruins is great. So we were quite happy with it. Can't see the hate towards the hosts from other reviews.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cosy place but overpriced (100€ for two, just two courses, not even desert or coffee). Tasteless food. A typical tourist place. Id rather go to one of the basic pizza places next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful surprise! I always avoid touristic restaurants but this family run restaurant stood out amazingly both on food freshness, quality and value, and service friendliness by the son Aurelio!! Bravo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious lunch at the base of Pompeii. Easy parking and great service. Spaghetti with clams and fennel was delicious as was the linguini with fried zucchini and zucchini flower. Risotto fungi also a hit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Regardless of what you might think about tourist traps, the food was excellent and presentation was great. I had the shrimp risotto and my wife had the gnocchi; both were amazing. You get bread delivered to the table and there is a 2 euro cover charge per person which is reasonable. I recommend this place if you value Italian seafood.
