È stata costruita sul luogo dove sorgeva una delle più antiche cappelle della città.
Durante il rifacimento della pavimentazione interna è stato rinvenuto l'antico camposanto e parte di esso oggi è visibile grazie al pavimento vetrato, un affascinante evidenza della storia che si nasconde sotto le fondazioni delle nostre città.
The church of Santo Stefano is located in a little-frequented area of the center of Vicenza.
It was built on the site of one of the oldest chapels in the city.
During the reconstruction of the interior flooring, the ancient cemetery was found and part of it today is visible thanks to the glazed floor, a fascinating evidence of the history that lies beneath the foundations of our cities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa si trova in un luogo un po' appartato del centro storico, non lontano dalle Gallerie di Palazzo Leoni Montanari e dalla Chiesa di Santa Corona. L'interno, ampio e luminoso, è dominato da una grande cupola e contiene alcune opere d'arte di pregio. Capolavoro assoluto è la pala d'altare di Jacopo Palma il Vecchio, posta nel transetto sinistro.
Visita piacevole e inaspettata.
The church is located in a somewhat secluded place in the historic center, not far from the Galleries of Palazzo Leoni Montanari and the Church of Santa Corona. The interior, large and bright, is dominated by a large dome and contains some valuable works of art. Absolute masterpiece is the altarpiece by Jacopo Palma il Vecchio, located in the left transept.
Pleasant and unexpected visit.

A neat church in the center of Vicenza. A bit off the main routes and therefore a bit hidden.
