Beautiful area!! If you have time, I’d highly recommend hiking from Riomaggiore to Portovenere. It was one of the most beautiful and interesting hikes in the area! Hiking down into Portovenere afforded you TONS of spectacular sceneries. There was also a cute cafe along the trail (before you hike down to Campiglia) where you could get coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and various sweets. We went in early October and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. You can’t miss this area! If you get into Portovenere early enough, you can catch the ferry back! If you end up missing it, you can simply take the bus to La Spezia and catch the train back.

Best part of the the region! Quieter, calmer and stunning scenery! If you visit the area make this your priority! And the best way to travel is of course by boat from La Spezia!

Beautiful landscape - we cruised with the motor bike it's been awesome. Not to speed to enjoy the countryside. New impressions after every turn of the road. And there are lots of turns. So fun biking in a beautiful area and almost no traffic.

What a beautiful parc. It’s absolutely worth visit it. The best way to visit it is by boat. The islands are super nice. Some very special history. There are companies where you can rent a boat to see the beautiful spots. I advice to take a local guide. They know the rich history of this area.

A beautiful location. The day was windy and the sea a little choppy so we thought we'd walk across the Isola Palmaria to have look at the beaches on the other side. We started out from the Locanda and the track started off well-kept and with signposts but after 15/20 mins we found the signposts to be a little confusing and the pathway became narrower and narrower with, in some places, sheer drops to one side with no kind of, even small, railing. After about 40 mins we arrived down on Pozzale beach (pebbles and rocks) which must be beautiful with a calm sea. But It was certainly a 10 min scramble to get down to it! So, to conclude this little experience, if you're interested in the beaches, take the boat or else be prepared for a bit of a hike, all be it through untouched Mediterranean scrub woodland which is beautiful in itself.

A life-changing experience. The weather was kind when we were there and the blue green sea lapped the jettisons in the bright sunshine. A wedding was taking place (by chance) in the beautiful little church overlooking the calm sea below. For those brief moments, I could have been viewing heaven and this stuff sticks with us. Since returning to normality and the bleak nature of everyday life, I have a new sanctuary in which to dwell. Beautiful.
