Falconieri bed - Hungarian Academy The palace as we admire it today with its imposing baroque appearance was completed in 1649 by Francesco Borromini and is named after the last owner, Orazio Falconieri, who bought it in 1638 from the Farnese family. In 1927 it was bought by Hungary to be used as the headquarters of the academy founded in the same year. A curiosity is that Napoleon Bonaparte's mother lived here for 3 years -1815-1818.

È famoso in quanto l’architetto bissonese Francesco Borromini, ebbe l‟incarico di restaurarlo da Orazio Falconieri, che lo acquistò nel 1638. Il suo compito era quello di ampliare la sua struttura e tra le opere de sui genio troviamo: l‟ampliamento della facciata principale di via Giulia, la decorazione in stucco di cinque stanze del Piano Nobile e la costruzione della loggia che si libra nel cielo sormontata da erme bifronte con la simbologia di Giano. Dall’altana si può ammirare Roma a 360 gradi: una vista spettacolare della città al tramonto, mi ha lasciato letteralmente a bocca aperta. Purtroppo è complicato da visitare quanto sede dell’Accademia d’Ungheria, soprattutto la loggia e l’altana.
