★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questa è la terza volta che vengo qui e purtroppo molte cose sono cambiate in peggio purtroppo. Il museo minerario è stato spostato in un altro edificio, sicuramente più nuovo e ben curato, ma di tutto quello che si poteva ammirare rimane ben poco. Praticamente una mostra fotografica. Inoltre, in precedenza la visita era guidata, molto interessante con tantissimi aneddoti e storie di vita vissuta, come ad esempio la presenza di un finanziere e un carabiniere nelle profondità della terra a presidio del confine di stato o il passaggio degli austriaci attraverso i cunicoli della miniera con la relativa presa di sorpresa dell'esercito italiano e la conseguente disfatta di Caporetto. Segreto militare svelato dagli austriaci a distanza dei 100 anni dalla grande guerra. Peccato......
This is the third time I have come here and sadly many things have changed for the worse unfortunately. The mining museum has been moved to another building, certainly newer and more well-kept, but very little remains of everything that could be admired. Basically a photographic exhibition. Furthermore, previously the visit was guided, very interesting with many anecdotes and real life stories, such as the presence of a financier and a carabiniere in the depths of the earth guarding the state border or the passage of the Austrians through the tunnels of the mine with the relative surprise take by the Italian army and the consequent defeat of Caporetto. Si intrecciano storia, lavoro e memoria dove si apprende la storia della cavità, dei minatori e di quel tunnel che terminava in Slovenia, usato anche in tempo di guerra, in cui si estraeva il piombo e lo zinco già a partire dal 1700 e fino a non poco tempo fa, al 1991, una delle più grandi d’Europa. Visitabile anche grazie ad un trenino elettrico, il Miniera, il museo dedicato alle tradizione mineraria con un percorso documentario che consente di comprendere appieno la storia e le caratteristiche di questo luogo, e infine il Museo di Storia Militare che narra gli eventi che si sono susseguiti storicamente in quest’area, dalle campagne napoleoniche alla seconda guerra mondiale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tickets are six Euro for virtually nothing and there is no language other than Italian. Even though at the ticket office they were happy to tell us the employee would explain in English, he couldn't. He didn't actually know much English.
