β β β β β Castello non molto grande articolato attorno al maschio antico centrale. Personale gentilissimo che ci ha indicato i vari percorsi dai sotterranei alla torre piΓΉ alta ??
 Not very large castle articulated around the ancient central keep. Very kind staff who showed us the various routes from the basement to the highest tower ??

β β β β β Bellissimo castello medievale ,completamente restaurato e visitabile ( vedere orari sul sito del comune )
Conserva dei rari sotterranei con una necropoli medievale molto suggestivi!
All'interno ,la biblioteca comunale e varie sale conferenze!
Da evidenziare la torre con orologio ,perfettamente funzionante dopo i restauri.
Unica sfortuna i portici della piazza principale che tolgono un colpo d'occhio sull'insieme dal lato principale !
Molto bella la conservazionedi alcune parti del fossato,tra cui quella su cui poggiava il ponte levatoio ,comunque conservato sotto due grandi vetrate ai lati dall'ingresso principale!
Da visitare assolutamente
Conserva anche alcune sale dove sono visibili i principali reperti archeologici della Zona!!
Beautiful medieval castle, completely restored and open to visitors (see timetables on the municipality website)
It preserves some rare undergrounds with a very suggestive medieval necropolis!
Inside, the municipal library and various conference rooms!
To highlight the tower with the clock, fully functional after the restoration.
The only bad luck are the arcades of the main square that take away a glance on the whole from the main side!
The conservation of some parts of the moat is very beautiful, including the one on which the drawbridge rested, still preserved under two large windows on either side of the main entrance!
To visit absolutely
It also preserves some rooms where the main archaeological finds of the area are visible !!

β β β β β Paese di circa 10.500 abitanti Ricco di eventi, fiere, raduni, etc. Vi sono tutti i servizi essenziali, l'ospedale, numerosi negozi, 2 hotel, farmacia etc. Feudo privilegiato degli Estensi fino al 1713, Montecchio conserva nel centro storico, la Rocca e il sepolcreto medioevale, la Chiesa della Madonna del Popolo e il Santuario della Madonna dellβOlmo. Γ un luogo veramente molto tranquillo e vivibilissimo.
Country of about 10,500 inhabitants Rich in events, fairs, rallies, etc. There are all the essential services, the hospital, numerous shops, 2 hotels, a pharmacy etc. A privileged fief of the Estensi family until 1713, Montecchio preserves the medieval fortress and burial ground, the Church of the Madonna del Popolo and the Sanctuary of the Madonna dellβOlmo in the historic center. It is a truly very peaceful and livable place.

β β β β β When we entered we didn't realise that the library, housed in this castle, offered the services of an excellent guide who explained the whole history of the castle and showed us around from the cellar to the towers. Excellent cheerful knowledgeable, also in english, made our visit to the Este castle a highlight. Highly recommended.
