★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il castello di Montechiarugolo è molto imponente ed ha certamente ricevuto una importante ed accurata opera di restauro. Pur essendo un bel monumento, patisce chiaramente i risultati di una sorte un po' avversa. Fa parte di quegli edifici che, dopo un periodo di splendore, sono stati utilizzati con tutte altre mansioni (deposito di polvere da sparo, di salnitro, magazzino attrezzi e armi e quant'altro). A causa di ciò, quasi tutte le opere d'arte a livello di affresco, nonché il mobilio e le suppellettili originali si sono deteriorate e/o sono scomparse. Il castello è privato e vi si può accedere solo previa prenotazione.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The castle itself is quite nice, but be ready to come before the opening as otherwise you won’t be able to enter the place. The castle lady opens the door at 10am and then take you to the castle tour for about 1h-1.30h. The tour is completely on Italian, so if you don’t speak Italian you’ll be pretty bored. The exposition is very small and I should say that the castle is not in his best condition.
