★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Take the ferry between Naples and Palermo. It is far, far nicer and more comfortable than flying. I paid 55 euro and had my own hotel room with WC and shower, and there's entertainment onboard. Plus, it's a downtown-to-downtown service. On the Napoli side, there's a convenient express bus for 5 euro that runs express on dedicated lanes to either the central train station or the airport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lazy and disorganised. Kept us waiting all day after weather was poor with no news. Next day the weather was beautiful and calm seas yet still no services meanwhile we couldn't meet up with our friends. They ruin people's holidays, but what do you expect witha single operator and no competition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They told us to arrive four hours before departure. Didn't even have check-in open. After that we spent two hours being told to park and drive to five different places before finally waiting two more hours. It's surreal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traveled on the overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo. Everything was great, from the smooth check-in and boarding, throughout the whole journey and disembarking.
The cabins are comfortable (got at least 5 hours sleep!) and the service at the bar was really good. Worth the €109 (for 2 people in a 4-berth cabin) we paid.
The ship is a little old and run down, so if you’re expecting a luxury cruise liner you might be disappointed, but it’s excellent value for a 10 hour journey!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with the guy at reception. Also he gave us bad directions to the ferry. In the end we realised that we've been rebooked to another ferry and have to walk far away from what was promised. On the other side the GNV call center was very helpful and kind.
