★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worst car hire company I've used, and that's saying something.
Despite our pre-paid online transaction with Maggiore including insurance, and having my own personal excess insurance back in the UK, the staff asked me for a credit card to guarantee excess funds of €1800 in case of any accident. Considering the two insurance policies in place, this is ridiculous.
As neither my credit card nor my wife's had a limit of over €1800, Maggiore forced us to pay up an additional €124 to reduce the excess amount. It felt like a regular scam, with the company knowing that a large portion of customers won't have at least €1800 available on a credit card.
Because we obviously weren't happy, they gave us a larger vehicle than the small car we'd booked, with satnav. Whilst the satnav came in handy, a large car is the last thing you need on the tiny roads of the Amalfi Coast.
Car hire companies deservedly get a lot of bad press. These guys do nothing to help their reputations.

While we had secured separate damage insurance via our chosen insurer, the lady at the desk insisted that we either pay €124 for their cover, or that she charge a credit card for €1800 as a guarantee. As we already had insurance, we did not want to purchase their cover. However, as I rarely use my credit card, I had reduced my limit and did not have €1800 available for them to charge.
In response to this problem, the lady did not offer any solutions or flexibility, rather repeatedly reminded us that their office closes for lunch at 1:30pm, as if that was our problem. She had zero customer service capabilities and treated us as if we were an inconvenience to her lunch plans.
In the end we had to buy additional insurance via Maggiore, doubling our car hire costs. We will escalate this further, as it's a total con.
This company gets 1 star as its not possible to give zero.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great service, staff knowledgeable and friendly. Car condition was really good, had a great value /quality for my reservation. Car was clean and pretty new. Easy to arrive and pick up drop off was very smooth. When back in Napoli will surely rent there again.
