I	Isabella Pulignani on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Altro museo all' inerno di Palazzo Pitti molto grande e ricco di opere interessanti: quadri e sculture che passano davanti agli occhi e osservando si capisce e si conosce un' altra epoca con tutte le sue caratteristiche. Non dimentichiamo di dare uno sguardo alle finestre , perche' dall' alto si vede una Firenze stupenda. Another museum inside Palazzo Pitti is very large and full of interesting works: paintings and sculptures that pass before the eyes and by observing one understands and knows another era with all its features. Let's not forget to take a look at the windows, because from the top you can see a beautiful Florence.

Oltre a questa c'e la Galleria Palatina, il Tesoro dei Granduchi, il museo del Costume e il Museo delle Porcellane. Dovrebbe esserci anche il museo delle Carrozze ma è quasi sempre chiusa. Comunque la Galleria d'Arte Moderna, così chiamata perché quando venne inaugurata nel XIX secolo rappresentava l'arte moderna di quell'epoca, è una sfilata di meraviglie artistiche pittoriche e scultoree italiane lungo un secolo: dalla fine del 1700 ai primi decenni del 1900. La Galleria copre quasi tutto il secondo piano di Palazzo Pitti ed è veramente enorme che quasi non ce la fai a vederla tutta. Centinaia di opere d'arte che stordiscono per la loro bellezza e le varietà espressive. Una preziosità che passa quasi inosservata perché il turista che viene a Firenze si limita a visitare la Galleria degli Uffizi e la Galleria dell'Accademia. Palazzo Pitti con i suoi musei rappresenta un'eccellenza di livello mondiale. The Gallery of Modern Art is one of the five museum exhibitions of Palazzo Pitti and all of them deserve to be visited. In addition to this there is the Palatine Gallery, the Treasury of the Grand Dukes, the Costume Museum and the Porcelain Museum. There should also be the Carriage Museum but it is almost always closed. However, the Gallery of Modern Art, so called because when it was inaugurated in the nineteenth century it represented the modern art of that era, is a century-long parade of artistic pictorial and sculptural wonders from the late 1700s to the early decades of the 1900s. The Gallery covers almost the entire second floor of Palazzo Pitti and it is really huge that you hardly can see it all. Hundreds of works of art that stun for their beauty and expressive variety. A preciousness that goes almost unnoticed because tourists who come to Florence limit themselves to visiting the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery. Palazzo Pitti with its museums represents world-class excellence.

Da non perdere la collezione dei Macchiaioli, con Fattori e Signorini su tutti senza dimenticare gli altri esponenti della loro arte. Dalle finestre si gode una meravigliosa vista sul centro della città. Sinceramente consigliata per opere esposte e per la maestosa collocazione. It is sincerely interesting both for the works of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with a large collection of truly fascinating portraits, and for the majesty of the rooms, with their frescoes, which alone are worth the entrance. Do not miss the Macchiaioli collection, with Fattori and Signorini above all without forgetting the other exponents of their art. From the windows you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city center. Sincerely recommended for exhibited works and for the majestic location.

E’ presente una vasta collezione di opere principalmente italiane del periodo dalla fine del Settecento ai primi decenni del Novecento. Vi sono molte opere dei “macchiaioli” ed in particolare di Giovanni Fattori. The Modern Art Gallery is a museum housed on the second floor of the Pitti palace. There is a large collection of mainly Italian works from the period from the late eighteenth century to the first decades of the twentieth century. There are many works by the "Macchiaioli" and in particular by Giovanni Fattori.

R	Ross Harvey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An interesting collection of 19th and early 20th century Italian paintings by painters mostly not well known outside Italy. However alarms are set to go off if anyone approaches the works more closely than 50 cm, yet the labels next to the pictures are so small that they cannot be read from that distance. As I am an artist I fully appreciate the need to protect the artworks, but the labels should be large enough to be easily read from three feet away. Mine was an intensely frustrating visit. I still don't know who painted some of the most interesting 20th century works.
