★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fin dal XVI secolo la famiglia Frescobaldi possedeva in via Santo Spirito (il "fondaccio di Santo Spirito") alcuni edifici, uno dei quali era conosciuto anche come "Casa del Cortile", così chiamato per il vasto giardino interno; in seguito questi possedimenti (torri, casi medievali e rinascimentali) furono unificati dando vita all'attuale palazzo, tra il 1621 e il 1644, su iniziativa di Matteo Frescobaldi.
Since the 16th century the Frescobaldi family had owned some buildings in via Santo Spirito (the "fondaccio di Santo Spirito"), one of which was also known as "Casa del Cortile", so called because of its vast internal garden; later these possessions (towers, medieval and renaissance cases) were unified giving life to the current palace, between 1621 and 1644, on the initiative of Matteo Frescobaldi.

We repaired to the library in the vast apartment of Marchese Vittorio Frescobaldi, old man head of the clan and president of the family business, Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi. Amazing.
