★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non pensavo che Palazzo Pitti potesse entusiasmarmi così tanto. Grazie ai suoi musei ho visto dei veri tesori e delle cose MOLTO PARTICOLARI.
La Cappella delle Reliquie è una di queste.
Ha pianta ottagonale ed è ubicata al piano nobile della reggia medicea, accanto agli appartamenti riservati alle Granduchesse di Toscana.
Era stata costruita grazie a Cosimo I° nel 1560 e nel 1616 veniva consacrata con cerimonia solenne, autentico santuario interno alla reggia medicea. Svolse per 130 anni il ruolo di SCRIGNO di una delle più vaste e ricche COLLEZIONI DI RELIQUIARI ED OGGETTI DEVOZIONALI d'Europa, paragonabile, per fasto, a quella dei sovrani di Spagna, all'Escorial.
È un luogo simbolo della devozione delle Granduchesse di TOSCANA e degli ultimi granduchi della Famiglia MEDICI.
Quasi 1000 oggetti di inestimabile valore che, da 1785, furono in gran parte dispersi. Erano custoditi in questa Cappella, all'interno degli armadi decorati da pannelli finemente dipinti.
(Pensate che Cosimo, per preservare le preziose Reliquie raccolte, fece realizzare scenografiche CUSTODIE in argento, oro, pietre preziose e pietre dure)
Nel 2014, dopo un lavoro certosino e una vera e propria "caccia "è stato recuperato e restaurato uno dei più vasti tesori sacri d'Europa, simbolo di prestigio e di magnificenza.
Le mostre dedicate alla ricostruzione del tesoro che questa Cappella conteneva, si susseguono continuamente.

 I didn't think that Palazzo Pitti could excite me so much. Thanks to its museums I have seen real treasures and VERY SPECIAL things.
The Chapel of Relics is one of these.
It has an octagonal plan and is located on the main floor of the Medici palace, next to the apartments reserved for the Grand Duchesses of Tuscany.
It was built thanks to Cosimo I ° in 1560 and in 1616 it was consecrated with a solemn ceremony, an authentic sanctuary inside the Medici palace. For 130 years he played the role of SCRIGNO of one of the largest and richest COLLECTIONS OF RELIQUARIES AND DEVOTIONAL OBJECTS in Europe, comparable, for pomp, to that of the sovereigns of Spain, at the Escorial.
It is a symbolic place for the devotion of the Grand Duchesses of TUSCANY and the last Grand Dukes of the MEDICI family.
Almost 1000 objects of inestimable value which, since 1785, were largely dispersed. They were kept in this chapel, inside the wardrobes decorated with finely painted panels.

In 2014, after painstaking work and a real "hunt", one of the largest sacred treasures in Europe was recovered and restored, a symbol of prestige and magnificence.
The exhibitions dedicated to the reconstruction of the treasure that this chapel contained, are continually following one another.
