★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Fontanella nel Giardino di Sant'Alessio (funzionante), si trova, nel Rione XII (Ripa), sull’Aventino all’interno del Giardino Storico di Sant' Alessio, adiacente all’omonima chiesa.
Il giardino è passato al comune di Roma nel 1877, con l’abolizione degli enti ecclesiastici (era della Congregazione Somasca in S. Alessio) all’interno è presente Una bella fontana un tempo presente nello scomparso palazzo Accoramboni, è stata trasferita qui dal 1937 quando sono stati eseguiti in tutto l’Aventino e dintorni, molteplici interventi archeologici.
Descrizione dell’Opera:
La Fontana parte da terra con una serie di rocce calcaree le quali rappresentano una scogliera sulla quale è appoggiato un uccello con le ali spiegate, dalla cui testa spunta un beccuccio dal quale fuoriesce l’acqua che si riversa su un bacino in travertino a fior di terra.
Al di sopra incassata sulle ali dell’uccello è addossato un bacino curvilineo, sul quale è posta una targa con la seguente iscrizione:

Sulla parte superiore continua tramite pietre calcaree la rappresentazione della scogliera sempre addossata sul muro sulla quale è presente un putto con le ali spiegate (purtroppo la testa non è più presente).
 The Fountain in the Garden of Sant'Alessio (functioning), is located in Rione XII (Ripa), on the Aventine within the Historic Garden of Sant 'Alessio, adjacent to the church of the same name.
The garden passed to the municipality of Rome in 1877, with the abolition of ecclesiastical bodies (it was from the Somasca Congregation in S. Alessio). when several archaeological interventions were carried out throughout the Aventine and its surroundings.
Description of the Work:
The fountain starts from the ground with a series of limestone rocks which represent a cliff on which a bird with outstretched wings rests, from whose head a spout emerges from which the water flows out and pours onto a travertine basin at the edge of land.
Above, embedded in the bird's wings, is a curvilinear basin, on which a plaque with the following inscription is placed:

On the upper part continues through limestone stones the representation of the cliff always leaning against the wall on which there is a putto with outstretched wings (unfortunately the head is no longer present).
