Tante le storie narrate che la riguardano come quella che voleva che i bambini piccoli venissero immersi nelle sue acque perché curative, o che qui vi si lavassero le donne di buon costume della città che poco distante avevano la loro casa di incontri. La realtà è il desolante abbandono in cui è immersa oggi la fontana.
