★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Torre che consentiva il controllo dell'ingresso alla Cittadella fortificata dei Visconti.Sotto la dominazione degli Asburgo fu aggiunto l'affresco con l'aquila bicipite e la piccola campanella sulla cima.
 Tower that allowed the control of the entrance to the fortified Citadel of the Visconti.Under the Habsburg domination was added the fresco with the double-headed eagle and the small bell on the top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La torre della Campanella costituisce la porta d'ingresso alla cittadella fortificata, risalendo addirittura al 1355, quando i Visconti di Milano eressero la piazzaforte. Dopo avere mantenuto le proprie funzioni in epoca veneta, fu rimodernata sotto gli Asburgo che vi aggiunsero l'arco con la campanella da cui prende il nome. Vi si può notare ancora l'aquila bicipite, stemma della casa d'Austria.
The Campanella tower is the gateway to the fortified citadel, dating back as far as 1355, when the Visconti of Milan erected the stronghold. Having maintained its functions in the Venetian era, it was modernized under the Habsburgs who added the arch with the bell from which it takes its name. You can still see the double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the house of Austria.

You will probably arrive in Bergamo Alta via the funicular or the road that connects to the city center but once one of the main access roads was this door that you will find under the tower. Interesting history and beautiful place to see

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Esta torre fue construida como objetivo de seguridad. La torre requirió varias restauraciones, la que en 2010 restauró el reloj a un sistema automático, reactivando el sonido de la campana que había estado en silencio durante unos veinte años. Bien mentenida.
This tower was built as a security objective. The tower required several restorations, which in 2010 restored the watch to an automatic system, reviving the sound of the bell that had been silent for about twenty years. Well maintained.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wieża Campanelli jest budowlą o charakterze wojskowym wybudowaną przez Bernabò Visconti i stanowiła część cytadeli Visconti. Od XIV wieku była wielokrotnie przebudowywana i zmieniane były jej funkcje.
Od 1797 roku stała się siedzibą prefektury, a właścicielem było miasto. Po 1814 stała się siedzibą delegacji rządu austriackiego, następnie koszar angielskich aby po 1955 roku stać się własnością Muzeum Nauk Przyrodniczych.
Renowacja w 2010 roku przywróciła zegar, reaktywując dźwięk dzwonu, który milczał przez około dwadzieścia lat. Przez tą bramę prowadzi droga z centrum Citta Alta na wzgórze San Vigilio.
The Campanelli Tower is a military building built by Bernabò Visconti and was part of the Visconti citadel. From the fourteenth century, it was rebuilt several times and its functions were changed.
From 1797 it became the seat of the prefecture, and the city was the owner. After 1814, it became the seat of the delegation of the Austrian government, then English barracks to become the property of the Museum of Natural Sciences after 1955.
The renovation in 2010 restored the clock, reactivating the sound of the bell, which was silent for about twenty years. Through this gate leads the road from the center of Citta Alta to the hill of San Vigilio.

A clock tower in the north-western part of the city, next to a charming square full of restaurant gardens. You can reach the viewpoint through the gate under the tower.
