★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seguendo lo stesso sentiero della Torre Valca, troviamo un colombario, erroneamente detto “Costantiniano”, poiché la struttura risale al II sec. d.C. Il monumento, un sepolcro a tempietto a pianta rettangolare su due piani, probabilmente aveva un portico anteriore, purtroppo non conservato. Nel piano inferiore c’era la camera funeraria, dove venivano depositi i sarcofagi; al piano superiore invece, si svolgevano le cerimonie funebri.
Nell’etá medioevale l’edificio fu trasformato in un mulino: un canale d’acqua regolato da una chiusa entrava nel colombario facendo girare una macina orizzontale.
Following the same path as the Torre Valca, we find a columbarium, erroneously called "Constantinian", since the structure dates back to the second century. A.D. The monument, a temple sepulcher with a rectangular plan on two floors, probably had a front porch, unfortunately not preserved. On the lower floor there was the burial chamber, where the sarcophagi were deposited; on the upper floor, on the other hand, funeral ceremonies took place.
In the Middle Ages the building was transformed into a mill: a water channel regulated by a lock entered the columbarium by turning a horizontal millstone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il colombario di Costantino sorge nella valle della caffarella, più verso il confine, seguendo i sentieri battuti. L'edificio è un antico sepolcro con delle nicchie, e per gli amanti della storia è una tappa da fare, seppur breve. Da lì si può raggiungere il parco Egeria o proseguire nel visitare altri posti storici della valle.
The Columbarium of Constantine rises in the valley of the caffarella, more towards the border, following the beaten paths. The building is an ancient sepulcher with niches, and for history lovers it is a stop to do, albeit a short one. From there you can reach the Egeria park or continue visiting other historical places in the valley.
