Il luogo sacro è ricco di interessanti tele del Cinquecento, ed ha una cappella interna, un tempo riservata alla preghiera dei frati, riccamente decorata con pitture murali e pregevoli stucchi
The church of San Domenico, also called del Rosario (1678), with the adjoining Dominican convent dates back to 1461. The prospect is one of the few left intact after the 1693 earthquake. The sacred place is full of interesting paintings from the sixteenth century, and has an internal chapel, once reserved for the prayer of the friars, richly decorated with wall paintings and fine stuccos

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' una bella chiesa barocca dedicata a San Domenico - ricostruita nel 1678 dopo il terremoto che l'aveva distrutta nel 1613 - con annesso convento, oggi Municipio di Modica, anticamente sede dell'ordine della Santa Inquisizione.
L'edificio è a navata unica con soffitto a botti decorato con stucchi del Gianforma.
Nel terzo altare, a destra dell'entrata, una pregevole tavola raffigurante la Madonna del Rosario, opera di Vincenzo Aniemolo. All'altare successivo una tela raffigurante lo "Sposalizio di Santa Caterina".
L'altare centrale è occupato dal gruppo statuario della Madonna del Rosario.
E' attualmente interdetta alle visite.
It is a beautiful Baroque church dedicated to San Domenico - rebuilt in 1678 after the earthquake that destroyed it in 1613 - with an adjoining convent, today the Town Hall of Modica, formerly the seat of the Holy Inquisition.
The building has a single nave with a barrel ceiling decorated with stuccoes by Gianforma.
In the third altar, to the right of the entrance, a valuable table depicting the Madonna del Rosario, the work of Vincenzo Aniemolo. At the next altar there is a canvas depicting the "Marriage of Santa Caterina".
The central altar is occupied by the statuary group of the Madonna del Rosario.
It is currently closed to visits.
