★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' la prima Chiesa di Ragusa Ibla che ho visitato, posta nel cuore del Giardino Ibleo. La facciata, molto semplice, non attira certo i visitatori. All'interno, però, è conservato un trittico di Pietro Novelli, degno di nota. Pagando una moneta, lo si può illuminare.
It is the first church of Ragusa Ibla that I have visited, located in the heart of the Ibleo Garden. The very simple façade certainly does not attract visitors. Inside, however, there is a noteworthy triptych by Pietro Novelli. By paying a coin, you can enlighten it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una chiesa costruita dai Cappuccini veramente bella, tutto legno lavorato a mano e con materiali semplici.
Il ragazzo che c'era dentro inoltre è stato molto disponibile e ci ha spiegato molte cose.
PS: ci sono tantissimi laureati, studiosi e appassionati di arte in questo paese e non mi pare corretto farli lavorare praticamente gratis in un settore che potrebbe trainare da solo l'economia italiana se solo lo volessimo
A really beautiful church built by the Capuchins, all wood worked by hand and with simple materials.
The guy who was inside was also very helpful and explained many things to us.
PS: there are many graduates, scholars and art lovers in this country and it does not seem correct to me to make them work practically for free in a sector that could drive the Italian economy alone if we only wanted to.

Fortunatamente era aperta e siamo riusciti a visitarla.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di Santa Agata o ”dei Cappuccini“, situata all’interno del Giardino Ibleo, conserva tre pregevoli tele seicentesche, opera di Pietro Novelli e incastonate in una pregevole cornice lignea, che raffigurano: l’Assunzione della Vergine (al centro), Sant’Agata (a destra)e Santa Caterina d’ Alessandria (a sinistra). La piccola chiesa che si erge al fianco del convento cappuccino conserva numerose opere sopravvissute al sisma del 1693. Tra queste, di grande valore è il soffitto dipinto, su cui è impressa la data del 1614, opera più unica che rara nel suo genere: un vero e proprio esempio dell’arte pre-sisma degli artigiani iblei.
The church of Santa Agata or "dei Cappuccini", located inside the Ibleo Garden, preserves three valuable seventeenth-century paintings, the work of Pietro Novelli and set in a fine wooden frame, which depict: the Assumption of the Virgin (in the center), Sant'Agata (right) and Santa Caterina d 'Alessandria (left). The small church that stands next to the Capuchin convent preserves numerous works that survived the earthquake of 1693. Among these, the painted ceiling is of great value, on which the date of 1614 is imprinted, a most unique and rare work of its kind: a a real example of the pre-earthquake art of the Iblean artisans.
