★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As an atheist I always find it rather strange to find myself writing effusively about a church. However, the barroque grandure of this beautiful building take the breath away and took even a garden atheist's gaze upwards towards the heavens.
Well worth climbing the stairs flanked statues of the apostles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my most memorable churches visited while in Sicily and probably the most easily accessible Modica church which is located on one of its main streets. This is another church which fits into a category in my mind of “hidden treasure chests”. Somewhat unassuming on its exterior, yet splendorous within. The altar is stunning and early evening was a superb time to see it!
