La chiesa dei muratori, una delle congregazioni della "Festa dei Ceri", conserva intatto il suo interno; ma è nella cripta che da il suo meglio raccontando con le proprie pietre la storia di San Francesco e il lupo che ammansì nei dintorni della Città. Quì giace il corpo del lupo che, addomesticato, morì di vecchiaia nelle mura della Città che prima aveva terrorizzato con le sue scorrerie! It could happen to pass by and not notice it, yet it would be a serious mistake! The church of the masons, one of the congregations of the "Festa dei Ceri", preserves its interior intact; but it is in the crypt that gives its best by telling the story of San Francesco and the wolf that tamed around the city with its own stones. Here lies the body of the wolf that, domesticated, died of old age in the walls of the City that before had terrified with its raids!

Nn so se apre in altri giorni, perché appartiene alla confratellita dei Scalpellini. Ha un balcone sulla entrata della Chiesa che la fa sembrare una abitazione. Comunque da vedere anche solo dall'esterno Small church in Gubbio where it is said to preserve the ashes of the wolf of St. Francis. Closed . I don't know if it opens on other days, because it belongs to the Stonecutter's confratellite. It has a balcony on the entrance to the church that makes it look like a dwelling. V	Vincenza Capizzi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avremmo voluto visitarla ma non ci è stato possibile perché alle 17:40 la biglietteria era già chiusa sebbene la chiesetta fosse ancora aperta (sul volantino diceva che chiudeva alle 18). Per vedere la grotta bastavano 4 minuti ma niente da fare... Peccato che non siamo potuti arrivare prima perche nessuno ha saputo indicarci dov'era, nemmeno al punto informazioni di Gubbio, il ragazzo dietro il bancone era confuso e ci ha mandato fuori dalla città, alla Vittorina, siamo tornati indietro ma è stato troppo tardi. We wanted to visit it but it was not possible because at 5:40 pm the ticket office was already closed although the church was still open (on the flyer it said that it closed at 6pm). To see the cave it took 4 minutes but nothing to do ... Too bad we could not arrive earlier because no one was able to tell us where he was, not even at the Gubbio information point, the guy behind the counter was confused and sent us out of the city, at Vittorina, we came back but it was too late.

Questa Chiesa rappresenta uno dei simboli della Città di Gubbio.....la lupa ammansita da San Francesco,.... la confraternita dei Muratori che ereditò l'antica Arte dei Muratori e relativa alla festa dei Ceri; ......le statuette simbolo dei santi Ubaldo...Giorgio...Antonio. Vengono eletti proprio qui i Capitani....e molto altro. Well worth a visit ..... it only needs two euro because it is also a small museum. This church represents one of the symbols of the city of Gubbio ..... the she-wolf tamed by San Francesco, .... the brotherhood of the masons who inherited the ancient art of the masons and related to the feast of the candles; ...... the statuettes symbol of the saints Ubaldo ... Giorgio ... Antonio. The Captains are elected here .... and much more.

E	Edmund Mart on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ … e poi il detto lupo vivette due anni in Agobbio, ed entravasi dimesticamente per le case a uscio a uscio, senza far male a persona e senza esserne fatto a lui… Chiesa di San Francesco della Pace La chiesa di San Francesco della Pace appartiene all’Università dei Muratori Scalpellini e Arti Congeneri. Questo piccolo tempio fa parte della ritualità essenziale della Festa dei Ceri ( di cui l’Università è depositaria) : qui vengono eletti i Capitani della Festa e sono custodite le statuette dei santi Ubaldo, Giorgio e Antonio che vengono poste sulla sommità dei ceri stessi. La chiesa fu costruita sopra la grotta dove visse la lupa ammansita da S. Francesco ed ebbe il titolo di S. Francesco della Pace quando, nel 1584, vi fu trasferita dalla Chiesa della Vittorina la pietra, ora mensa d’altare, sopra la quale S. Francesco tenne un sermone dopo l’ammansimento. Church of San Francesco della Pace The church of San Francesco della Pace belongs to the University of Stonecutters and Congeneric Arts. This small temple is part of the essential ritual of the Feast of the Candles (of which the University is the custodian): here the Captains of the Feast are elected and the statuettes of Saints Ubaldo, Giorgio and Antonio are kept and placed on the top of the candles themselves. The church was built over the cave where the she-wolf tamed by S. Francesco lived and had the title of S. Francesco della Pace when, in 1584, the stone, now altar table, was transferred there from the Church of the Vittorina, above which St. Francis gave a sermon after the taming. In the crypt it keeps the stone that covered the tomb of the she-wolf.
