Da il nome ad una delle porte di ingresso a Città Alta, porta conosciuta anche come Porta Garibaldi.
La porta è l'inizio della Via Priula che collegava Bergamo al cantone dei Grigioni in Svizzera

La costruzione originaria risale al VIII secolo.
La facciata é il classico, romanico stile lombardo di montagna.
L'interno é ad unica navata, a pianta longitudinale con cappella annessa, in stile semplice con cappelle barocche.
Le caratteristiche che rendono bellissima questa chiesa sono:
- la cappellina annessa;
- i lineamenti barocchi;
- il sottoportico della cappellina.
Ingresso: líbero.
The church of San Lorenzo alla boccola is located along the road that leads to the upper city of Bergamo.
