A fost dedicată Sfintei Ana, mama Mariei, pentru a sărbători răsturnarea stăpânirii lui Walter al VI-lea, contele de Brienne și așa-numitul duce al Atenei la 26 iulie 1343, ziua calendaristică a sfintei. Construcție încheiată în 1404 sub Francesco Talenti În 1616, biserica a fost transferată într-o confraternitate a lombardilor, iar biserica a fost rededicată lui Carlo Borromeo.
