β β β β β Cattedrale dedicata a San Lorenzo adiacente al Palazzo dei Papi. Costruita nel medioevo, fu rimaneggiata nei secoli cosΓ¬ da avere un prospetto in stile rinascimentale. Spicca il campanile con fasce alternate nella parte superiore.
Internamente ha una planimetria a tre navate sormontate da capriate lignee, con alcune cappelle decorate, con pareti spoglie dove, perΓ², ci sono testimonianze di affreschi; su una parete vi Γ¨ la tomba di un Papa.
 Cathedral dedicated to San Lorenzo adjacent to the Palazzo dei Papi. Built in the Middle Ages, it was remodeled over the centuries so as to have a Renaissance style façade. The bell tower stands out with alternating bands at the top.
Internally it has a plan with three naves surmounted by wooden trusses, with some decorated chapels, with bare walls where, however, there are testimonies of frescoes; on one wall there is the tomb of a Pope.

β β β β β Questa chiesa Γ© stata edificata in occasione dell'elevazione a diocesi della cittΓ nel 1192, ma negli anni ha subito numerosi interventi tra cui il rifacimento della facciata in stile rinascimentale. All'interno si possono apprezzare il pavimento cosmatesco e numerose cappelle decorate lungo le navate laterali.
This church was built on the occasion of the elevation of the city to diocese in 1192, but over the years it has undergone numerous interventions including the reconstruction of the facade in Renaissance style. Inside you can appreciate the Cosmatesque floor and numerous decorated chapels along the side aisles.

β β β β β The cathedral was built in the twelth century and two popes are buried inside her. In the middle of the thirteenth century it was home to the papal throne after the flight of the pope from Rome.In second world war the cathedral and the city was heavily damaged.

β β β β β Viterbo Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral, and the principal church of the city of Viterbo. It is the seat of the Bishop of Viterbo and is dedicated to Saint Lawrence.
The church is an imposing Romanesque structure situated high on the hill which the city climbs, but it lacks much of the spectacular decoration with which it was originally adorned, thanks to an ill-advised sixteenth-century reconstruction.

β β β β β The cathedral had a gorgeous ceiling although the building itself was surprisingly plain. There were the remains of some wall frescoes by the altar and one of the chapels had the best example of tromp l'oeil we'd ever seen. The bronze plated doors were impressive too. Entrance was included with the Papal Palace ticket next door.
