★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ero in bici ed ho avuto la fortuna ed il piacere di incontrare la gentilissima proprietaria, la quale mi ha fatto visitare il parco ed il piano terra del castello, illustrandone la storia.
I was on my bike and I had the good fortune and the pleasure of meeting the very kind owner, who showed me the park and the ground floor of the castle, illustrating its history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In castello cui manca solo il ponte levatoio, rifatto nei primi anni del Novecento in cemento. Il fossato è intatto come pure le mura e le torrette d'avvistamento.
In the castle missing only the drawbridge, rebuilt in the early twentieth century in concrete. The moat is intact as are the walls and the watch towers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Castello,menzionato dal XIII,era il luogo piu'a settentrione controllato da Siena nell'area del Chianti,terra di confine tra Siena e Firenze.
Fu esso stesso stesso oggetto di faticosa conquista nell'avanzata dei Medici verso Siena ,nel 1500.
Alcune parti sono state rifatte in epoca piu'recente,ma e'piacevole da vedere con la sua struttura massiccia, il parco intorno,i vigneti che lo circondano( e'presente una struttura ricettiva e una tenuta dove si produce il Chianti, ma non sono entrata).
The Castle, mentioned in the thirteenth century, was the northernmost place controlled by Siena in the Chianti area, a borderland between Siena and Florence.
It was itself the object of arduous conquest in the advance of the Medici towards Siena, in 1500.
Some parts have been rebuilt in more recent times, but it is pleasant to see with its massive structure, the park around it, the vineyards that surround it (there is an accommodation facility and an estate where Chianti is produced, but not I entered).
